Making Memories - Universal Resort Orlando Part 2 - Islands of Adventure

After lunch, we left the Wizarding World to explore the Islands of Adventure theme park. The first "Island" you come to is The Lost Continent. It has a combined Arabian Nights/Greek Mythology theme.  We went to the Poseidon's Fury, an indoor, special effects show. As I previously said, Nathan was done with anything in the dark, so he went with his mom on ahead to Suess Landing.

After the show, we all went over to Seuss Landing to join Vanessa and Nathan.

After riding the train, the carousel, and One Fish, Two Fish, we moved along to Marvel Superhero Island were the Lizzie rode the Hulk roller coaster, then we went on the Amazing Adventure of Spiderman. A 4D indoor ride, Nani and Nathan sat that one out. Nathan does love Spiderman, though, He has dressed as Spiderman the last two Halloweens. He got to meet his hero.
Next stop was Jurassic Park where Nani, Lizzie, Joshua and Nathan rode the Pteranodon Flyers. This the only ride of our entire visit that we had to wait more than 15 minutes to get on (other than shows that had a set schedule we had to wait for.) It took about an hour because they only run one "car" at a time with only two people in it!

Next we went to The Eighth Voyage of Sinbad, a live-action stunt show. Lizzie got pulled out of the audience for some pre-show fun.
We decided to take the Hogwarts Express back to King's Cross for a little shopping, then started back to the hotel.  Along the way, we found out there was going to be a parade in the New York section of the park. Since it was only a short wait, we picked out a place on the curb to sit and watch the parade.

That evening, JoAnne and I took the boys down to the hotel pool and lazy river to swim while Matt and Vanessa went out on the town for a date. We just ate PB&J for supper in our room. Told you they would need their swimming suites! End of day one at the resort.
